Lawsuits are fun!
Published by Jeff, February 24th, 2004 in MusicIf anyone remembers, a while back there was a site you could sign up for a portion of the settlement in an antitrust lawsuit against the major record labels (for overcharging consumers on CDs). Well, my check came yesterday: $13.86. Whatever will I spend it on?
How about a CD?
Argh! I’m upset I missed this. Was there a max you could get? Is this still open? I have over 400 CDs… I’d probably get a decent amount of money.. although since I listen to primarily electronic music (trance, techno, drum and bass) not that many of my CDs came from the Big 5.
No, it’s over. $13.86 is what everyone got, I think. It don’t remember estimating how many cds I had bought, I don’t think it mattered.
I should have taken advantage of that. I remember hearing about it, but never went and signed up. For once, my inherent distrust of disclosure has ended up a bad thing…. dammit!
