Some thoughts…
Published by Jeff, August 29th, 2004 in CultureI saw two homeless people here in Bozeman today, which is two more than I remember seeing in the two previous years I’ve been here.
In the parts of Montana I’ve been to lately, I can’t remember seeing any Kerry, Bush, Nader, or Libertarian campaign yard signs. I have, however, seen two signs for Michael A. Peroutka, Constitution Party candidate. As an aside, I’ve seen a couple Schweitzer signs, but no Brown signs.

Expect to see a Vote Cobb sign up in my window soon
Most of the homeless in Bozeman (and there are a few) are up on the Northside by my place. They’ll come around the University around rush, but after that, they stick pretty close to the train tracks.
Both the guys I saw were down by Walmart. I’ve never seen any around the campus.
They (whoever “they” are) have a hot food/rescue that sets up on Oak outside the entrance to WalMart. They used to set up in the entry to WalMart, but I think the Corp nixed that with the remodel. I’ve stopped a couple of times to donate a few bucks, but I don’t like being preached to at a van on the roadside. The whole thing is kind of surprising to me, considering that Bozeman’s law enforcement and mental health services have a long and rich history of using “Greyhound Therapy” (let Billings and Missoula deal with the nuts …).
Oh, right, I remember seeing that last year.
