April Fools!

I’m no good at those, so I thought I’d relate the only time I remember being completely taken in by one.

One day in third grade our principal came in and said he had an announcement.

That announcement?

Bill Clinton declared we had to go to school on Saturdays now. He said some other things that I don’t remember now, but I completely believed it. I was on the verge of tears, being a gullible and ignorant little kid. But alas, it was April Fool’s day. I was very relieved.

There’s a moral to this story. I was taken in by such ridiculousness as a third grader. What makes grown men fall for stories about the Clintons that are almost as silly?

Bad things always seem to happen on April Fools. One year, my dad had a heart attack. This year, the dad of one of my high school friends died in a car accident.

Haha, I remember when I was in like 4th grade the office got on the intercom and did something similiar, like school was extended until 5 or something. Bastards let it sink in for about 5 minutes too before coming back and saying “April Fool’s!”
