The foobar plugin works pretty well. I used it a couple times to copy my entire music collection to my iPod all at once, which seems like a pretty good test. I haven't had any problems with it. Ditched my 1 year old Creative Zen Xtra for an iPod (80gb). Did you get rockbox on there? I've been waiting for a rockbox firmware for the 80gb version but apparently they can't get it to work.
