North American Union

I have to confess, I don’t really get why this seems to be a big deal in some circles. Apparently some people had a meeting about it creating some of EU for North America. Who cares? It’ll be debated eventually, or it’ll die from lack of support. What’s up with people thinking it’s some sort of evil government plot to control us? I mean, the EU may have it’s faults, but it’s hardly evil. What’s up with the hysteria?
Do these people see this as a move towards Revelations-style one world government? That’s my best explanation.
The idea of any sort of unified political entity that’s larger or stronger than the US is frightening to a great many people, although in the case of the EU, it shouldn’t be. What should really scare people are the projections for China in the next 20 years.
