Is there a religion that isn't bat shit crazy when measured by an intelligent and unbiased observer? Those bumper stickers "Religion stops a thinking brain" really are true. In Billings a large number of my brothers friends were Mormons because the cross country team was 80% Mormon. They were all really nice guys. But often for the wrong reasons. "Goodness without wisdom invariably accomplishes evil" - Heinlein's Stranger In A Strange Land I've known people that simply refused to think or read anything against their religion or to even begin questioning it. You could almost see it physically.. like their brain was chugging along at full speed when suddenly a brick wall with "religion" was placed across the path and WHAM! Their brain is stopped as they try and find some crazed explanation that fits their religion when logic and reason would lead them on a path to hell.

Yeah, but if I do that, the kids'll just end up dishonoring me and I'll have to do all that work beating and choking them to death, and I just don't have time for that kind of hassle. 'kin kids these days, right?
