Marriage is a religious institution. Let the church figure out who they want to marry. If your church wants to marry you to God, to your dog, to your house, your money, or your boat.. go for it. The government needs to get out of the marriage business entirely. Everyone gets a civil union.. if you're over 18 or an emancipated minor or by some means a legal adult.. you can have a civil union with any other legal adult. I don't care if that adult is green and likes to have sex with furniture. You can have a civil union with that other adult. If you can then find a church that will marry you, your partner, and your sofa.. as part of some three-way furniture fucking sex cult.. go for it. That is between you and the church.
